Lee Westwood’s final round at Muirfield could have been derailed on the par-3 7th hole, after his tee shot landed dangerously close to the face of a greenside bunker. Westwood tried to lob his shot over the face, but he could only advance the ball forward a yard or two, and it dropped right back into the bunker.
Westwood, who held a two-shot lead at the time, averted a complete disaster with a spectacular second shot from the bunker. He slid in a lengthy bogey save, and remained the outright leader.
